"A Local Touch with a Global Reach"

Established in 1826, the city of Albemarle sits in Stanly County, approximately 40 minutes from Charlotte. Rich in history, there are a number of historic properties within the community including the Freeman-Marks House, which is on the National Registry for Historic Places. The downtown area is old yet full of character and is undergoing continued preservations and renovation. Business, shops and restaurants line Hwy 24/27 and there are five community parks within the city limits. East of the city, stands Morrow Mountain State Park overlooking Lake Tillery. With miles of trails, picnic areas, a museum and three RV sites the park is perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and enjoy the outdoors.
